I am on holidays this week! Mark and I are at a cottage somewhere near North Bay with my younger sister, Gailie, and her husband, Frank. They rented the cottage and invited us to tag along. How wonderful is that! We really enjoy spending time with them, as we are not only family but also really good friends. They are also the only family on my side that loves the Lord, so our fellowship together is sweet. I have been really looking forward to this rest and relaxation time, and as I thought about our vacation I heard the words “spacious place.” I felt that the Lord was speaking to me so I decided to check out some scriptures to see what He was saying. This is what I came up with –
He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.
“He is wooing you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place free from restriction, to the comfort of your table laden with choice food.
You have not given me into the hands of the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.
When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place.
To be honest, my work has been a bit stressful lately. So I am receiving everything these verses speak about. I am declaring that this week He is rescuing me from work and the daily commitments of life, wooing me from the jaws of distress, and freeing me from restriction to the comfort of good food and fellowship. I am also declaring that while I am on holidays He will keep me safe from the hands of the enemy and that this is His blessing for me because He heard my cry!
I know that the words “spacious place” can have different meanings depending on the circumstances. For me I believe that at this time they are specifically referring to my little holiday. But as you read these verses, the Lord could be speaking something totally different to you. That is the wonder and beauty of the Rhema word of God. Therefore I encourage you to re-read these verses and ask the Lord what “spacious place” He has or is preparing for you. You might like to share your revelation with us too!
See you next week ladies!
