Cross Walk Life Groups

Go therefore and make disciples (emphasis added) of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

Discipleship is key to our maturing as sons and daughters in the Lord. When we enter into our relationship as believers, we become a spiritual son and daughter, but sometimes it takes a while before we behave like one.

Like all children, we must grow through stages to become fully mature. This process takes time and encouragement through studying the Word of God and walking with others to develop our spiritual strength and maturity. Our Cross Walk Life Groups provide the environment upon which to grow together. Spending time in a smaller family setting provides a greater opportunity to practice, understand and become familiar with our God-given gifts and calling.

Understanding who we are in Christ, and being built on a firm foundation ensures we will walk tall when hit with adversity, and we will not waver. In the parable of the two builders (Matthew 7:24-27), Jesus teaches the importance of building our houses (lives) on solid ground. When everything is going well and our lives are great, having built our lives on something that is not solid or on a shaky foundation will not reveal much. But when we face challenges due to stress, pressures of life, financial hardships or pandemics, we will soon find out how firm our foundation is or isn’t. Therefore, Jesus teaches this in the book of Matthew:

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall. Matthew 7:24-27
